This new technology enables the production of formic acid from carbon dioxide and green energy, thereby creating valuable high-performance electricity storage for everyone and opening new possibilities for the hydrogen economy! The RK-X is not only an environmentally friendly solution but also economical, as formic acid produced from carbon dioxide serves as an energy carrier and thus as fuel. Formic acid stores hydrogen in chemical bonds, which can be easily released at the place of use. Formic acid is a weak acid liquid, so it can be easily transported from the place of production to the place of use and easily refueled. 1 kg of formic acid can store 33 kWh of energy, which can be locally extracted using simple, well-controllable technologies.

With the RK-X technology, it is possible to utilize waste carbon dioxide generated in a given industrial production at the emission site to produce formic acid in an innovative way, following the principles of a circular economy. An RK-X process adapted to a high carbon dioxide emission technology can transform the process waste CO2 into valuable formic acid. The green hydrogen storage system operating on the complete RK-X technology basis has a zero carbon balance, as the amount of carbon dioxide stored in the system is withdrawn from the atmosphere, thus greening the entire industrial operation and indirectly reshaping the overall societal carbon footprint.
